What is VAT (Value Added Registration)?
Customers are forced to pay a value-added tax, or VAT, on the goods and services they buy. This tax supports and finances public services in the area. It is a legal requirement for a company to collect tax at the point of sale from customers at a rate of 5%. This implies that as a business owner operating in the UAE, you must ensure your enterprise is registered for VAT. Discuss with our VAT Consultants in Dubai to get more information.

How to Register for VAT?
Businesses can begin registering for VAT on October 1st, 2017, by entering the Federal Tax Authority's online VAT registration portal (FTA). As per the new update on November 2022, starting from 2023, The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced that starting from 1st January 2023, director services undertaken by persons serving as members of boards at entities and institutions across the UAE will not be subject to value-added tax (VAT).
At the same time, VAT will continue to be applied to director services provided by entities that designate a person to act on their behalf as a member of the board of directors.
The VAT registration procedure is straightforward, as listed as follows:
Step 1: Visit the VAT registration portal on the FTA website and create a user account.
Step 2: After creating the account, you will receive an email to activate your account. Once started, you can log in to the portal using the credentials provided.
Step 3: Once you have entered the portal, select the VAT registration form, and provide the necessary details to complete the registration process.
Step 4: Submit all the required documents and validate the provided information.
Step 5: Finally, click the submit button, and that's it. Your VAT application has been submitted, and FTA will process your application and respond to you via email by providing a TRN (Tax Registration Number).
